GOLD privacy policy

GOLD 2.0 · Effective 23 October 2026 · DIGIID LLC

This policy explains how GOLD 2.0 handles information. For questions or privacy requests, contact adam@digiid.com.

Your calculations, spaces and camera files

Calculations, spaces, comparisons, capture photos and reconstructed 3D models stay on your device. GOLD does not upload these files to its registry. Device backups may contain saved work. Camera permission is optional and is used for AR measuring and object capture. Temporary capture photos and reconstruction files are removed after successful reconstruction; interrupted work remains available for retry or deletion. You control any report, model, certificate or conversation you choose to export.

Automatic edition registration

On opening GOLD, the app sends Apple's signed app acquisition record over HTTPS to verify an eligible production acquisition and assign or restore a Series II edition. The record can include the app acquisition identifier, original purchase date, app and platform information and Apple's device-verification fields. The registry processes this signed record in memory and does not store the raw signed record.

The registry retains a hashed acquisition identifier, original acquisition date, registration date, edition number and signed provenance records. These records support edition restoration, prevent duplicate issuance and apply eligible edition benefits. A hashed identifier remains a persistent pseudonymous identifier; it is not anonymous. The registry does not receive your Apple password, Apple Account email address, card details, calculations or camera files.

Edition certificates you export include their pseudonymous acquisition identifier and provenance. The public proof optionally shared in nearby chat contains the Series II number and certificate hash, without the acquisition pseudonym or date. A copied signed proof does not establish a person's identity or current ownership.

Nearby chat

Nearby chat is optional and connects two phones directly with a pairing code and host approval. A hosting phone advertises its chosen username on the local network. Messages and profiles travel between the paired phones over encrypted transport; no hosted GOLD chat server receives them. Messages stay in memory until the chat is cleared, closes or the app stops; you can choose to export a conversation. Your username and blocked profile identifiers are stored locally. Local-network permission is needed for discovery.

Purchases

Apple processes payments, subscriptions, cancellations and refunds. GOLD uses Apple's verified app and in-app purchase records to restore access and check entitlements. DIGIID LLC does not receive your payment card details. Pro is a subscription; Auto Object Capture and All-Gold Face are independent one-time purchases.

Hosting and service metadata

Google Cloud and Firebase host the edition registry and this support site. Service operation and security logs may contain IP addresses, request times, requested paths, response status and other network diagnostics. These are used to run, secure and troubleshoot the service, rather than for advertising or user profiling. The registry database is hosted in the United States; hosting providers may process requests in other locations.

Advertising and sharing

GOLD has no advertising or analytics SDK. We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising or combine it with third-party data for cross-app tracking. Data is processed by our hosting providers to operate the service, shared through exports you choose, or disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect the service.

Retention, controls and requests

Delete saved calculations, spaces and captures using the app. Removing GOLD removes its local files, subject to backups managed through your device settings. Registry records are separate: acquisition and signed edition records are retained to restore editions and maintain issuance integrity. Service logs are retained according to the hosting service's operational retention settings.

Contact us to request access, correction, deletion or other applicable privacy rights. We may need to verify an acquisition or your authority to make the request. Some records may need to be retained for security, legal obligations or the integrity of previously issued certificates; we will explain any applicable restriction. Contact your data protection authority if you have an unresolved concern. Earlier GOLD releases used a separate registration system, whose records are not replaced by Series II.

Children and changes

GOLD is not directed specifically to children and does not knowingly collect their contact information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us. We may update this policy when the app or its services change; the effective date above identifies this version.
